I started writing a book about my restaurant and hotel life a few weeks ago, and it is progressing surprising well. I say this because I will never forget Michael Wynn Jones, Delia’s husband, once telling me that writers only write to deadlines. He’s not wrong. It was very difficult to start: first I had to do an enormous amount of bureaucratic housework before I felt I could put pen to paper – or, more accurately, mouse to Mac.
But it’s on its way and I am aiming for spring 2019 completion. Perhaps in my dreams but I’ll keep you posted.
